We asked members of the school to anonymously post secrets, however funny, silly, serious, embarrassing, crazy, real and scary into a box in the library. Then our script was created entirely from these secrets. We collected 186 and incorporated each and every one somewhere in our piece. The play follows a couple’s relationship as the secrets escalate and build up uncontrollably taking over their lives, both suffer the consequences. As the secrets developed her personality was dramatically altered, and each aspect of her personality was portrayed by a different actress.
“Although it is wonderful that you recommend counselling for suicide people, not all people with secrets are depressed oppressed or scared. I think secrets are a good thing. It makes a person more mysterious; sexy and unique. Secrets are fun, liberating; they make people who they are.”
