Venue: Memorial Hall
"Romeo and Juliet", Shakespeare's tragic love story, was recently presented by L6 and IV form pupils. The intimate traverse staging conveyed the opposition of the two families with clarity and power; visiting prep schools were extremely pleased with the accessibility and energy of the productions, describing their pupils as "gripped" and "thrilled" by it. Members of the Common Room joined forces with pupils to stress the divide between entrenched ancient attitudes and the hope for change represented by the youthful lovers. Nancy Braithwaite played Juliet with a light, innocent grace and Ollie Blackford, Romeo, with vigour and passion.
