Romeo and George's Chocolate Factory

Well done to everyone involved with Romeo and Juliet. It was a stunning performance, which was, as intended very accessible. There were so many lovely performances that I won’t name names, however you should all be exceptionally proud of what you have achieved. The music was beautiful and set the moods of the scenes whilst still being gorgeously organic.
As Mr J says, the ‘George’s’ discussion was fairly lively, with much passionate debate surrounding the nominees - a sure sign of the huge range of talent that has been showcased this year.
Charlie is moving along with much sweet and sickly speed, we will hopefully have blocked the whole play by today, and should be able to polish, polish, polish next term. There are some lovely performances coming through, and hopefully lots of line learning and character building over the Easter. The oompa loompa’s are buzzing with energy and creating some lovely work, with Flora at the helm. Well done to the chorus who have been really patient at long rehearsals where they simply hold up their hands and wave them about - it’s going to be worth it guys…. you get to be squirrels!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for all the hard work so far, rehearsals will step up a gear next term, so attendance needs to be excellent…. keep it up!

A great Sunday rehearsal today. The Cast were incredibly patient as we worked through minor technical issues and general bits and pieces and the overall feel of the show is coming close to what I was after. There are some lovely performances, some cool set pieces and the band are really underscoring the play with some great music. Lets face it, purists will probably chunter about edits and interpretation but the aim is to make it as accessible as possible to a school audience and hopefully show them that the Bard tells a great story. Fingers crossed that the audience this week leave having enjoyed themselves for 90 minutes! A few tickets left, but not many!
THAT OLE DEVIL- better late than never!!!

Well now that it is all everything has calmed down. The monologues evening seemed to be a great success with the audience. Ollie doing the funniest speech about being rude about the bride while he was the best man. A HUGE thank you to Mr Herring who not only directed That Ole Devil but he wrote all the pieces. It was great fun to put together especially only have 2 weeks to put it together. It was a bit nerve racking at times when we were all standing on the wall and it nearly fell apart!!! but it was all fine apart from the thud… but overall great fun although Ollie was the cast joke everyone blended well together and it was very enjoyable cast. WELL DONE GUYS..
Charlotte
